The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSIBC)

Our History

In 1978 the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) was founded through a merger of three associations: The National Christian School Education Association, The Ohio Association of Christian Schools; and the Western Association of Christian Schools. Soon after the new association formed, several other Christian school associations joined ACSI: The Southeast Association of Christian Schools; the Association of Teachers of Christian Schools (Midwest); the Great Plains Association of Christian Schools; and the Texas Association of Christian Schools. Since this time ACSI has grown to support offices in Canada and every major region of the world. It is now the largest global Christian School Association. Global student count exceeds 1.8 million officially and 3 million unofficially, as we are still accounting for recent additions to the organization. At its current rate of growth, ACSI will increase exponentially in the next decade.

In BC, ACSI supports the three largest Christian schools and the largest Christian University in the province, as well as over 25 other schools. The number of students registered in ACSI schools throughout BC (including university and preschool) exceeds 11,000. ACSI Western Canada is currently supporting new curriculum delivery models such as blended education and online schools.

Our Vision

It is our vision to be an association speaking with a viable and authoritative voice in education and consisting of effective Christian schools recognized as essential and contributing to the public good, [so that] Christian school students worldwide acquire wisdom, knowledge, and a biblical worldview as evidenced by a lifestyle of character, leadership, service, stewardship, and worship.

Specifically, young men and women, products of Christian schooling, will mature to love God with all their heart, mind, and soul (Matthew 5:13); and to give sacrificially of themselves and their resources, thereby reflecting the essence and love of the Christ who lives and dwells within them (Romans 12:1).

Our Mission

is to enable Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively prepare students for life.
